Summer 2014



The Pool


  • The pool has performed well during the Summer and the water quality has been stable thanks to the hard work of Pisciblue and the effectiveness of the systems that we had installed.
  • The appearance of the pool remains at a high standard
  • Well done Pisciblue 
  • After a shaky start with our pool guards and their lack of English, the summer seems to have gone very well with Gines attending the majority of the time.  I haven't received complaints about the way in which the duties were carried out and several  Owners commented on how well he worked.

  • The pool is due its 5 yearly service and will be emptied for maintenance during the coming winter months.  I will post dates and details as soon as I have them.
  • Plenty of people are still swimming in the pool this week and I have been in most days but notice the temperature is dropping a little each day.
  • The lights IN the pool are back on now between 20:00 and 22:00 when the pool closes.  They are not left on after this time as it is felt that it invites 'out of hours' swimming

General Comments about the Summer Season

  • There were complaints from some Owners about inappropriate behaviour, mostly from short term renters.  These were addressed by the agents who were responsible for the letting and all were sorted satisfactorily.
  • The Committee will continue to pass complaints to the agents to sort and use it as an opportunity to reinforce that renters must abide by the agreed Rules and this must be stressed to them on arrival to avoid unpleasant confrontations.  All agents have been very cooperative and helpful.
  • Barking dogs remain a problem for those who have properties nearby such animals.  Information on disturbances is being passed to the the letting agents who we expect to find a solution.  Without the information there is little we can do.  Owners tell me that they do not like to complain but without details the argument for reform is weak.  Please see it as commenting rather than complaining.

STORMS AND FLOODING IN LOS ALCAZARES

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE TOWN HALL HAS ADVISED IT IS NOT SAFE TO USE TAP WATER FOR DRINKING, CLEANING YOUR TEETH OR COOKING .....EVEN IF YOU HAVE BOILED IT FIRST.  THE WATER TANK IN THE APARTMENTS WILL HAVE TO BE CLEANED AFTER WE ARE ADVISED THAT IT IS SAFE TO USE AGAIN. The water tank is due to be tested during the week Commencing 2nd January.  In the meantime, please do not drink the tap water or use for cooking in the Apartments. 24TH JANUARY  2017 -  HAPPY NEW YEAR  TO ALL TOWNHOUSES, PENTHOUSES AND BUNGALOWS PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE TOWN HALL HAS ADVISED IT IS NOW SAFE TO USE TAP WATER FOR DRINKING, CLEANING YOUR TEETH AND COOKING. APARTMENT BLOCK THE TANK IN THE APARTMENTS IS DUE TO BE CLEANED  DURING THE WEEK COMMENCING 23RD JANUARY.  UNTIL THEN YOU SHOULD USE BOTTLED WATER FOR COOKING, DRINKING AND CLEANING YOUR TEETH ETC. I WILL ADVISE YOU WHEN IT HAS BEEN DONE AND THE CERTIFICATE ISSUED SAYING THAT IT IS CLEAN. 29th JANUARY  THE CHECK HAS BEEN DONE AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS BUT.........THERE IS DIRT IN THE BOTTOM OF THE TANK AND IT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED.  THIS IS SCHEDULED FOR  WEEK COMMENCING 29TH JANUARY. UPDATE 2nd FEBRUARY 2017

APARTMENT WATER TANK The tank has now been tested, cleaned and disinfected.  We are back to normal. FOLLOWING THE FLOODS Has your property been checked since the heavy rains in December and January?  Some Owners have problems with water entering through their solariums especially in the.Penthouses and Townhouses. FIBRE OPTIC We have accepted an offer to install the fibre optic option into the complex.  We don't have an installation date as yet but I will let you know as soon as we are advised. It is part of the Government sponsored scheme so there is no charge for this.  Speeds should be in the region of 15 to 30 mb.  Charges for fibre optic packages seem to start from about 30€ per month which gives internet, TV and currently a mobile phone with data allowance included.
