ACCOUNTS I have been checking our accounts this week and am delighted to report that they remain in a very healthy state within the set budgets for each item. New Trees in the car park Following the pruning of the trees in the car park, new trees have been planted in the spaces  where the original trees did not survive. Pool I haven't been give definite dates yet for the 5 yearly maintenance work on the pool, but it is expected to start in February 2015.

SPANISH TDT

Changes were made on the 19th November 2014 to the settings for the Spanish Digital Television in accordance with the information in the article below.   If you do not have all the stations that you normally receive you will need to rescan.      Changes to TDT – Spanish Digital Television TDT  – Television Digital Terrestrial – is broadcast through waves, occupying a part of the frequency spectrum. This spectrum is shared by TV, radio, telephone and other communications.  So far TV has been using those between 21 and 69 channels. However, in 2007 the European Commission agreed to allocate part of the spectrum occupied by television to mobile phones on 4G. In accordance with the European Directive, the Spanish Government stated that  before January 1, 2015  TDT channels 61 to 69 will become available for the 4G mobiles so will not be available for TV. Time for pruning........pollarding Pruning date for the trees and bushes in the car park area .....NOVEMBER 11TH 2014. Car Owners asked not to park in the outside area to make the gardeners work easier and to avoid the risk of damage to vehicles.  Job done.   Pollarding is a method of pruning that keeps trees and shrubs smaller than they would naturally grow.  It is an effective way of keeping these trees in our car park to their present height. LOS ALCAZARES MAYOR DRIVES DOWN DEBT

This was reported in the Le@der 03/11/2014 The Mayor of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Bastida, has announced that during the past 3 years, since he has been office, the amount of debt owed by the council has been reduced by 45% .................... to just 16 million euros. The Budget for 2015 will see more money being spent on social services and improving certain aspects of the municipality including pavements, road surfacing, children's playgrounds and replacing the existing jetty on the seafront. The town council is now paying its suppliers "more or less on time".
