NEWS WEEK COMMENCING 24TH NOVEMBER 2014
ACCOUNTS
I have been checking our accounts this week and am delighted to report that they remain in a very healthy state within the set budgets for each item.
NEW PAGES
Please note the new pages that are list at the top right hand side of the Blog. I will be adding information on the topics listed there as well as on here. It´s just a way of keeping all info on one topic together. I'm having to reset the layout of the Statutes as I can't copy them directly onto here which is why it will be Work in Progress for a while.
APARTMENT ROOF
The roof area has had a thorough clean and the marble capping has been washed. Many workmen out of sight up there are not very considerate when it comes to disposing of their rubbish as they work on your aircon units in particular. As the tiles have been angled towards the drains that have to cope with sudden downpours, all these odd bits of cable ties and bits of boxes end up in our drains. Blocked drains, some of which run from the roof down through our properties and the corridors, are not a pretty sight if they fail and cause a lot of damage.
Please ask any workmen who to onto the roof to install or repair items for you to please take their rubbish away with them.
MAINTENANCE PROGRAMME
We have had two more meetings recently while I have been in Spain to discuss this work. David Newman attended via a Skype link which worked very well. Juan Pacheco, the architect who produced a report on the state of the community back in June, attended one of the meetings to explain in greater detail the quotes that we have received.
Final decisions are about to be made on the first phase repairs and then Juan, who will project manage the work, will advise our preferred contractor and oversee the contract. I will write to the Owners of properties where the work will be taking place before writing to all Owners to give a general overview of the plans.
New powder coated grilles are due to be fitted in the garage walls in January. As the old grilles will remain in place there should be a minimum of disruption.
GARDENS
This area of the garden that leads to the gate by the houses, penthouses, and bungalow post boxes used to be rather plain. Then last year some of the Owners in the area asked for additional plants to add colour.
A few words with our gardeners and new plants were added in the beds and a large plant pot placed in front of the wall. Now that the plants are established it has become a pretty little corner.
