NEWS ..... WEEK COMMENCING 6TH JULY 2015
AGM 2015
The AGM was held on 26th June with Owners from 14 properties attending and 40 voting by proxy. My concern over such small numbers is that we all have a high stake in the Community and should be vigilant on how the affairs of the Community are being handled.
Other communities in Spain have been caught out when 'less than honest' officials have taken advantage of the communal funds. We have safeguards in that the Committee oversees the President and the Administrator oversees us all but I would urge all Owners to play a part in the process and be fully aware of how the fees are used........ and demonstrate this by using your vote.
I have prepared the Minutes of the Meeting which are currently being checked before distribution.
POOL
The pool guard started on 24th June and I ask everyone to give him full support in ensuring that the Pool Rules are followed. Tomas is Norwegian and has an excellent command of English as well as German and Spanish. He is an experienced lifeguard and is there for the safety of all.
RUBBISH TAX
The tax for the collection of rubbish is now being handled by the Town Hall. Previously, it was collected via water bills. 26.50€ is payable quarterly to the Town Hall.
Normally pay by Direct Debit?
Those who normally pay their water and Town Hall/car taxes via Direct Debit need to check with their bank that this new Rubbish tax has been paid. (Some have and some haven't).
Normally pay manually (No direct debit set up)?
Those who normally pay their water and Town Hall/car taxes themselves SHOULD receive a bill. (These were issued while I was in Spain during the last week in June .... and several days AFTER the last date for payment!) Some Owners who pay by Direct Debit also received a bill). You, or those who act on your behalf, need to check what is happening. There is talk of a fine for late payment but I have no information about this.

All i will say is ....... I enjoyed it all and never have I seen so may people on the beach!!

Hi Jennie
ReplyDeleteI just noticed your post about the air day in Los Alcazares which I found fascinating because it looked very similar to the annual air show we have here in Bournemouth....which also takes place off the beach (although spectators don't stand in the sea to watch it!). We have the Red Arrows doing their acrobatics, parachute jumps onto the beach etc. and it makes me wonder if the Spanish copied us?! Will it be on again next year, I wonder?
